Tokyo Business Trip Diary: Oldman's Tailor Edition

On the second day of our business trip, we headed to Oldman's Tailor in Yamanashi by bus from Shinjuku.

When you're 50, you tend to wake up early.

This time, too, the two of us started moving earlier than planned.

Since we arrived in Shinjuku early, we first had some coffee.

N asked me to take some casual photos, but they all ended up looking forced and staged, lol.

N's personal Meat Platter Pouch that she brought on this business trip.

It's still cute even when I see it in a stylish cafe!

She said that even though it's a size S, it holds more than she expected!

It's a two-hour ride to Yamanashi.

Since the bus stops at Fuji-Q Highland and Lake Kawaguchiko, there were a lot of foreigners on board again.

I spent two hours regretting not bringing a mask, as I was overwhelmed by the perfume.

It's about a 20-minute walk from the bus terminal.

My bus sickness has completely recovered,

And I'm the first one there!

The stylish little hut that was also used at the previous exhibition has been upgraded for winter!

Wow!

Wowww!

Ohh!

So cute!

I want it! (for myself)

While I was excited, it was time for the long-awaited lunch.

With eager anticipation, I went down from the third floor to the second floor, where the cafe area is.

N had the octopus genovese ↑

I had the chicken pita bread sandwich ↓

It came with salad and soup, so I was very satisfied.

But we're not done yet!

This, this! This is what I always look forward to, lol.

I dream of trying all the varieties, but alas, in my 50s, two is my limit.

I always choose the pudding, so the other choice is harder to decide than the main order.

By the way, N had something like a matcha mousse and a chocolate ganache tart.

You probably don't care, but I also chose the chocolate ganache tart.

It was the right choice!

After filling our bellies, we went back up to the third floor.

I took many photos and videos, but there are too many, so I apologize!
Please let me introduce them again slowly at a later time.

Anyway, I think you're interested, so here's an introduction to this season's textiles.

The timeless masterpiece Wild Berry is now available in color!

And look closely, there's even an original monochrome Wild Berry on the colored background, showing the intricate detail!

One of this season's themes? Sketches.

If you look closely, you might see some familiar characters, lol, but they're sketches!

In any case, there's no doubt they're cute.

The photo above shows a gauze shawl (N is holding it, so it's transparent), but there were also clothes, bags, and pouches.

Many things for men that caught my eye too!

Not designer Shimura's beloved dog... but his beloved dog's mother!

A chance encounter.

I take pictures of flowers, but I must take pictures of animals too!

Time flies when you're having fun, and soon it was time for the bus.

It's sad to say goodbye.

Did you watch the drama "Hot Spot"?

I haven't watched it, so it didn't ring a bell for me, but N said, "This is where they filmed!"

And she was snapping photos, so I did too.

Apparently, the drama was interesting.

Fujiyoshida, where Oldman's Tailor is located, was the model for the setting, and various scenes were filmed there.

I'd like to watch it sometime.

The return bus arrived at Tokyo Station.

I slept soundly for two hours, with no time to get motion sickness.

I thought about getting takeout, but since we were there, we decided to eat in.

Mihashi's Anmitsu!

We ate until the very last minute.

However, we couldn't make it to the shumai bento that we had been talking about since yesterday, hoping to eat it on the shinkansen ride home... time ran out.

Next time, I'll get my revenge!

Thank you for staying with me this far.

Finally, I have something to tell you.
