【Red Rattan】

Ebagos baskets are made from a durable type of rattan called "Beni-to" (red rattan).

Red rattan is known to be the strongest of the approximately 300 types of rattan, so hard and durable that it needs to be soaked in water for 24 hours to soften it.

As it is a natural material, the thickness varies.
Each strand also has a different color.
It may appear entirely dark, or have orange or reddish tones, and sometimes contains stain-like patterns in certain areas.
A characteristic feature is that the surface peels over time, changing to a beautiful color.
