Red rattan is such a hard and durable material that it needs to be soaked in water for 24 hours to soften it. It is said to be the most robust among the approximately 300 types of rattan.
As it is a natural material, the thickness varies.
Each strand also has a different color.
It may be entirely darkened, or have orange or reddish tints, and sometimes, stain-like patterns may appear in certain areas.
A distinctive feature is that over time, the outer layer peels away, and the color changes to a beautiful hue.
