ALDIN is a factory brand of a textile company located in Fujiyoshida City, Yamanashi Prefecture. They meticulously craft their products using shuttle looms, which are now rarely seen.
One of ALDIN's embroidery series is "Lesson Torchon." It features red embroidery on the unique flax-colored linen fabric. Various designs are simply and charmingly depicted, as if practicing cross-stitch.
The fabric is a comfortable and durable blend of 50% cotton and 50% linen. With each use and wash, the weave tightens, becoming softer and richer in texture.
Our staff use these torchons for various purposes: as handkerchiefs, dishcloths, lunchbox wraps, and more.
The embroidery depicts: "White and red cross-stitches, as if a piece of cloth were applied. Is this a UFO...? 1, 2, 3... how adorable."
In the past, embroidery techniques were probably passed down this way, from parent to child, and from child to grandchild.
