With a factory located in Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi Prefecture, at the foot of Mount Fuji, Watanabete Textile has been primarily wholesaling original textiles to apparel manufacturers for approximately 70 years, from shortly after the war to the present day.
In recent years, they have launched their original brand, watanabe textile, and opened a shop in November 2020. Focusing solely on dobby looms, the third-generation owner, Tatsuyasu Watanabe, whose creative background encompasses architecture, photography, and art, develops original fabrics and products that are contemporary in design and texture. These creations primarily utilize natural materials, with a focus on regenerated cupro fibers.
