NORO

NORO launched its brand in 2007 in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris, France.

Designer Claire Noro was born to a Malagasy father and a French mother. As a child, her mother would take her to flea markets and brocantes every weekend, and during holidays, her travel-loving father would take her to spend time on various islands.
She first visited her father's homeland, Madagascar, at the age of 17, and was shocked by the extreme poverty she witnessed. She wished she could help the people of this country someday.

Her collections are a fusion of retro, simple designs and exotic designs, influenced by the distinct sensibilities of her parents.

Starting with being stocked at Le Bon Marché, word spread when she received orders for straw bags from exclusive clients of Hôtel de Crillon, and now straw bags are at the heart of her collection.
