ebagos baskets are made of a sturdy rattan called red rattan (beni-to).

Red rattan is so hard and durable that it must be soaked in water for 24 hours to soften, and is said to be the strongest of about 300 kinds of rattan.

It is a natural material, so the thickness varies.
The color differs from strand to strand.
It may be darkish overall, or orange or reddish, and may have spot-like patterns in places.
Over time the skin peels and it changes to a nice color.

Red rattan is a material that lets you fully savor the beauty born of nature.
