We often get asked if an A4 size fits, and it's quite a delicate situation.
I tried putting in an A4 file, and if you try to put it all the way in, the corners tend to bend slightly. If you tilt it a bit, it just barely fits.
So, for important documents, it might be better to open the zipper and let them stick out a little, as shown in the photo.
