I tried on Loake's Chelsea boots!

It's hot every day, how are you doing?

This year, I've been hooked on making jelly and eating a lot of it.

My last bite of life will definitely be jelly!

Anyway, getting back to the point, Loake's Chelsea boots, which caused a stir at the RD spring/summer exhibition, have already arrived.

You might think it's still too early (it's hot, after all...), but it's common for things to be gone when you finally want them.

To avoid regret, let me tell you the key points while they are still available.

 Loake×R&D.M.Co- Chelsea Boots [7003] ¥69,300

First, the black (waxed leather).

The cowhide waxed leather is also known as bridle leather, where wax is repeatedly applied to increase its durability.

It becomes shinier with use, and if you're looking for black ankle boots, these are definitely the ones.

They are long enough to completely cover the ankles, and it takes a bit of effort to put them on, but the pull strap at the back does a great job.

The sizing is generous in width, and once on, even staff with high insteps don't find them bothersome.

Since the ankles are held securely, you don't need to be as particular about the size (as you would with loafers).

I wear shoes between 22.5 and 23cm, so size 4 is my only option, but according to staff who wear 23.5cm, for example,

"Honestly, I can wear 4, 4.5, or 5."

So, if you're unsure, it's probably best to go with 4.5 for 23.5cm and 5 for 24cm, according to the size chart.

They are generally slightly larger, so if you have narrow feet or don't wear thick socks, you might consider going down one size.

Black tightens up the whole look, so I'm looking forward to wearing them in winter!

Next up is brown (nubuck).

The design is exactly the same as black, but the one big difference is that it's nubuck.

Nubuck is leather where the surface of cowhide is buffed with sandpaper or similar to create a raised nap. (Suede, by the way, has the nap on the reverse side of the leather.)

The nap is short, giving it a matte texture without shine, and it's durable enough to be used for hiking boots.

And, as you use it, the nap settles down, resulting in a sheen and a slightly darker color! This means you can enjoy its aging process.

Hmm, very appealing!

The brown ones have a black sole and side gore, which makes them easy to match with other clothing colors.

If I had to say, black is dressier, and brown is more casual.

Viewed from the back, the Union Jack on the pull strap in beige x deep green is a subtle touch.
It unassumingly asserts its British origin.

Brown also pairs well with indigo.

They will inevitably get scuffs and minor scratches, but I hope you'll cherish them as they develop character over time.

Loake is currently very difficult to acquire in Japan as their distributor here has ceased operations. (Even CREER hasn't received any tassel loafers... *sigh*)

I've gone on and on with various explanations, but simply put, they are cute.

These Chelsea boots are a special collaboration with R&D.M.Co-, following their tassel loafers.
Naturally, they pair perfectly with R&D.M.Co- clothing.

I wholeheartedly recommend them to R&D.M.Co- fans lol
