When we asked on YouTube and Instagram about summer problems, innerwear issues were a particularly common concern. Many people were unsure which color innerwear was least likely to show through.
So, this time, we put various colored innerwear under a white shirt on YouTube and tested how visible they were! We tried five colors: black, ecru, beige, white, and gray.
In the end, which color do you think was the least transparent? Please try to guess.

First, the classic black.
It's quite visible.
However, it doesn't look suggestive or like underwear, so I personally wear black innerwear the most.
One thing to note is that the border with the bottoms stands out, so in this case, I recommend wearing dark-colored bottoms.
Next up is an ecru tank top.
It's a slightly yellowish color, not pure white.
When worn under a white shirt, it stands out very clearly.
It would be fine under an ecru shirt, but it shows through a lot under a white shirt.
If you don't want your innerwear to stand out, it's safer not to choose this color.
Next, I tried beige.
(*Since I didn't have a tank top, I tested with an inner dress this time.)
The beige I wore this time was more of a brown shade, so I was most unsure how it would look.
But I was surprised when I put it on!
You might not be able to tell from the photo, but even with the naked eye, it barely showed through.
This is by far the most recommended color for those who don't want any transparency.
However, beige comes in a wide range of shades, including skin-toned colors.
I felt that skin-toned colors would look too much like underwear if they peeked out.
A brown-based shade like the one I wore this time might actually be surprisingly good.

Next, another classic color: white.
If it's a white shirt, shouldn't white innerwear be the first color that comes to mind?
This time, since I didn't have a tank top that fit, I wore a sleeveless top.
It's a bit hard to see, but if you look at the shoulder, you'll probably understand.
The outline of the innerwear is quite clearly visible.
Furthermore, with white innerwear, if the fabric is thin, underwear can still show through, so that's another point to consider when choosing.
However, white innerwear made the shirt look the whitest and brightest.
If that's your goal, white seems like a good choice.

・GICIPI Crew Neck Sleeveless T-shirt (Zmeraldo)
Finally, a gray tank top.
Actually, when I tested this two years ago, gray was determined to be the best, so it's a strong contender this time.
At first glance, the transparency isn't as noticeable as with white or black.
The innerwear is only faintly visible through the shirt.
Moreover, the white shirt doesn't look overly dull.
I wouldn't recommend it for those who want absolutely no transparency, but for those who want a moderate wearing feel, it's still the most recommended color.
Even if the innerwear does show, it doesn't look too much like underwear and feels healthy.
What do you think?
Since preferences vary, I can't definitively say "this is the one!", but it was found that beige was the least transparent.
If you don't mind a little transparency, gray is also a good recommendation.
Still, I personally like black.
This test was done for wearing under a white shirt, but the results would be different when worn under a black shirt or clothes of other colors.
Ultimately, having innerwear in various colors would probably be the most convenient, but since you'll likely be wearing white clothes more often, please use this as a reference.
