Business Trip Diary - Yamanashi Edition

It's cold.

The morning in Yamanashi, on the second day of my business trip, was below freezing.

But since I was there, I woke up early to go see Mt. Fuji in the morning.

Beautiful!

From anywhere in Fujiyoshida, Mt. Fuji appears grandly, and it's always breathtaking, no matter how many times I see it.

I envy the locals who get to see it every day.

I couldn't capture it in a photo, but last night, Mt. Fuji illuminated by the moonlight was truly sparkling and beautiful.

However, it was too cold, so I quickly retreated.

After a light breakfast at the hotel, I still had time before the exhibition, so I walked to buy some Japanese sweets.

I realized last night, isn't this the shop from about 20 years ago that I considered ordering from but didn't—the one that sells Daiginjo Kasutera?

I never imagined I'd be buying from their physical store 20 years later...

Feeling a connection, I immediately made a purchase.

Since I still had time, I had some tea at the cafe on the second floor.

Mt. Fuji was beautifully visible from the window, and the space was lovely, furnished uniformly with Tendo Mokko furniture.

Now, it's finally time to begin!

This is what I came for, so I lined up properly before opening and entered!

First, the men's OLD MAN'S TAILOR corner.

The skull-chan tote bag catches my eye.

The stylish little shop, which was also there last time, had a display of candies and candy stripes.

Cute!

It's exciting!

Since it's mainly summer items, bright, clean colors are lined up.

I love them too.

The London Blue Willow series bags (with tea bags) too!

A set of charms (I think)!

The popular Wild Berry pattern is colorful!

There were three colors: green, blue, and pink.

The picture is of a gauze shawl.

While I was excited, it was time for a welcome meal!

I quickly moved to the cafe corner.

The main dish was pork simmered in balsamic (probably).

It was served with warm vegetables and was very delicious.

Of course, I also had a separate dessert!

I ended up lingering for quite a while again.

Back to the exhibition hall.

By this time, the designer Mr. and Mrs. Shimura had also arrived with their dog, Charlie.

Charlie is super cute...

Customers often ask me, "How is Yuji-san doing?", so I took a picture.

He's doing well! And he looks cool!

There were a lot of items this time too, so I'll just introduce a few interesting ones!

Cute drop candy patterned textile.

Candy is one of the themes this time.

Is music also a theme?

A Walkman bag knitted from wool!

The "WALKMAN" becoming "OLDMAN" is a nice touch!

It's hand-knitted, apparently.

This cassette tape pouch is also interesting.

You can put a packet of tissues inside and pull one out quickly.

I like this one.

The ultimate is this recording sweater!

It's too cute.....

There's also an "ON AIR" motif on the back.

All the motifs are hand-knitted.

You don't see sweaters like this, do you?

Next up is the wild berry knit and cotton silk skirt.

The skirt is reversible, with a check pattern on one side and plain pink on the other.

Also, cotton silk frill collar and biscuit elastic pants.

The pants above look like stars, but they're actually a biscuit pattern.

The center part of the scarf below is a textile.

Of course, it's cute.

The new men's OLDMAN'S TAILOR T-shirt is 26.

The brand is celebrating its 25th anniversary, but the "26" is apparently for 2026, haha.

It looks like it's painted on, and it's raised, so I wondered how it's made.

When I asked the staff, they told me that!

The staff hand-paint over the "26" print.

That's amazing. No cutting corners!

There's still more!

I want to see even more!

If you do, please!

Please come to the exhibition at CREER, which will be held on January 12th (Monday holiday) and 13th (Tuesday) next year.

Time passed quickly, and I never have enough time...

I took the bus back to Tokyo Station.

A planned two-hour journey took three hours, and I was exhausted.

I didn't even have time to buy my usual shumai bento and headed straight to the Shinkansen platform!

I safely returned to Hiroshima.

Two packed days.

Thank you for reading my blog!
