【Beni-to Rattan】 Ebagos baskets are made from a durable type of rattan called "beni-to" (crimson rattan).
Beni-to is such a hard and durable material that it needs to be soaked in water for 24 hours to soften it. It is said to be the strongest among the approximately 300 types of rattan.
Since it's a natural material, the thickness varies. Each strand also has a different color. It can appear darkened overall, or have orange or reddish tones, and sometimes even mottled patterns. Over time, the skin peels and the color changes, which is another characteristic.
Beni-to is a material that allows you to fully appreciate the beauty created by nature.
(Leather part) To give the cowhide a soft texture, color is achieved using only a small amount of oil and dyeing. As it is unfinished leather, please be aware that it is susceptible to some color fading, discoloration, water stains, and scratches. It will develop more character with use, so please enjoy it.
